Volgograd International Airport is located in the north-west of the Dzerzhinsky district (Aeroport settlement), 21 km from the center of Volgograd, the administrative center of the Volgograd region.
In terms of technical characteristics, the Volgograd (Gumrak) aerodrome meets the certified requirements of civil aerodrome operational readiness standards according to ICAO category IIIA.
The runway of the airport is made of asphalt concrete.
