Manhuaçu is a Brazilian municipality in the state of Minas Gerais, in the Southeast Region of the country. It is located in Zona da Mata Mineira and its estimated population in 2020 was 91 inhabitants. It occupies an area of 169 km², being crossed by highways MG-628,318, BR-111 and BR-262. The city is 116 km from Belo Horizonte.
Its main source of economy is coffee, with large plantations in the region.
The Santo Amaro de Minas Regional Airport – Manhuaçu is an airfield (ICAO:SNJM) located in the district of Santo Amaro de Minas, municipality of Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais. It has a 1.170-meter long asphalted runway with night beacon and the capacity to receive planes of up to 70 passengers, in addition to 4 meters of aircraft apron and a 320-square-meter departure and arrival lounge.
It has already had flights to the cities of Belo Horizonte – Pampulha Airport, Viçosa Airport and Ponte Nova Airport, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and on Sundays by Two Flex.
It is also the closest airport to Pico da Bandeira, receiving many tourists.
