Cuiabá International Airport – Marechal Rondon (SBCY) is an international airport located in the municipality of Várzea Grande, in Mato Grosso. It is the main airport in the state of Mato Grosso. It is eight kilometers from the center of Cuiabá, the state capital, and is the third busiest airport in the Midwest of Brazil, according to data from the Brazilian Airport Infrastructure Company.
Inside, there are two great works of art demonstrating the beauties of the Pantanal: a painting by the painter Clóvis Hirigaray showing an Indian and a painting by Daniel Dorileo showing a blue macaw. The paintings were used to hide the part of the terminal that would be expanded and that, after the work was completed, ended up becoming a striking feature of the airport.
It has daily flights from several cities in the interior of Mato Grosso such as Sorriso, Sinop, Alta Floresta, Barra dos Garças and flights to other Brazilian cities such as Campinas, São Paulo, Goiana, Brasilia, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte and others.
